What will my baby and I experience
in a Kindermusik class?
Special Greeting and Closing Routines
Get comfortable, take off your shoes and relax. You will feel right at home in a nurturing and supportive environment. We set the mood so that you can settle in and give all your attention and focus on baby.
Lye on your tummy face-to-face or tummy-to-tummy while you gaze into their eyes. They are sparkling at you! We know that tummy time helps baby develop the muscles necessary for rolling, creeping and crawling. So why not gaze into those precious eyes while baby shows you all they can do?
Singing & Chanting
Singing, chanting, rhythms and rhymes permeate the environment. You will find representation from our rich and abundant folk heritage as well as a wide variety of cultures and musical styles. Though your child's vocal chords are not yet fully developed, their ears can already discern one sound from another. Variety of music is key to early musical development.
Flying to the center of a circle dance to meet other babies, face to face, results in much belly laughing and gurgling. Moving to the beat while tapping foot to foot with another baby gets squeals of enjoyment. And you enjoy your own time with baby as find new ways to dance together. Movement takes on so many new forms each day as they grow.
You set the stage for a vocal interchange when you gaze into your babies eyes and listen attentively to the gurgling, cooing, and babbling sounds your little one is making. Vocal play is said to be a rudimentary form of language development, speech, and conversation. Plus, it helps build articulation for baby that will go on to help them form words later on.
Settle in for a story. Literature provides a natural connection between singing and reading out loud, listening and communication. Books are an open invitation for vocal play interaction between you and your child and help to develop vocabulary and listening skills.
Everything in your babies world is new! Watch as your baby explores and understands through the use of their senses: touch, taste, smell, sight, and hearing. As your baby plays with objects, they are learning about the world around them with delight and curiosity.
The ability to listen perceptively is basic to all learning as well as musical growth. Your baby will be immersed in a rich aural environment that provides so many opportunities for them to practice and develop their listening.
Bonding with your baby is the most precious time. Lullabies and rocking provide that special opportunity for you to emotionally bond with your precious baby and are included in every lesson.
